We call ourselves "transplanted Texans". We moved here a little over 2 years ago. They say everything is BIG in TX. So this summer as part of our road trip back to CA to visit, we didn't miss the opportunity to eat at t Big Texan : Home of the Free 72 oz steak. It was a real treat. We didn't try the 72 oz. My husband big as he is will not even attempt to try it. BUT we did try their steaks and they were really good and juicy. No need for A1 steak sauce. Come to think of it, I don't remember seeing one when we were there.
My kids particularly enjoyed this giant chair. They have an arcade and of course gift shop. All in all we had a nice family experience when we're there.
This was our first stop on our way to CA to see my grandparents : my grandma is 85 years old and my grandpa is 95 years old. God bless them.

The Beginning
It was about this time last year that I created this blog. It was after my dad passed away after being sick for almost 13 years. Why? I wanted to express my thoughts about life, death, family, and just about anything that I can think of. We celebrated his death anniversary last September 8 and I just started with my very first post. Talk about procrastination. Hold on. Was it procrastination or the lack of time to settle down and make a note of your thoughts? Why now? I don't know. It's 2:00 am. I felt like I've been sleeping for 8 hours (considering that I went to bed about 11:00 pm) and the first thing that came to my mind was this blog. I took my laptop and decided to take that first step. It's time. Why "Fly the World...Above the Crowd"? Like I said, I was thinking of my Dad at that time and it was a relief knowing that at the time of his death it signalled the beginning of his freedom from earthly pain, being sick for a quite a while. I remember imagining his spirit soaring high above all the earthly cares and just being in the loving arms of His creator. No more pain, no more sickness. About the same time the church that we were a part of Celebration Covenant Church change it's name to Elevate Life Church. There we believe that when we Elevate our Thinking, we Elevate our Lives. We need to live our lives above what is "normal", what is "ordinary" and pursue the BEST that we can become.
I love reading blogs, from moms sharing their kid's adventures to crafters sharing their how-to's to small business owners who do both -share their family's milestones and promote their business as well. I came across a blog by a lady in our church (Tricia Lee) who owns "Posh and Whimsy". She designs "Posh and Whimsy" clothes for girls. Then I realized, her model "Bella" is one of the kids that we care for at our church's Sunday School fondly called "Wigglesville". That was a sweet moment for me. Recently, I found myself enjoying doing crafts from cake deco, personalized party favors, jewelry making, decoupaging, etc. I get so many ideas from crafts bloggers who were so generous in sharing their techniques and tips. Lastly, as a mom, I enjoyed reading blogs about moms who share their family adventures, tips on parenting, and so much more.
I'm excited. This is going to be an adventure. Come with me. Let's "Fly the world...Above the Crowd". 'Til my next post.
